1. Be Kind. Always. Respectful, polite, and friendly communication is non-negotiable—online and in person. No snark, no shaming, no side-eye (real or virtual). 2. Beginners Are Welcome Here. Questions are encouraged. Mistakes happen. Learning is celebrated. If teaching kindly or playing with newer players isn’t your thing, this group may not be the right fit. 3. Fun Over Perfection. We are not a strict NMJL-stickler or rule-policing group. However, we do teach/coach the NMJL rules. While we respect the game, we value enjoyment, flexibility, and good vibes over rigid enforcement. 4. Zero Tolerance for Judgment or Rudeness. Judgmental comments, condescension, or rude behavior toward anyone will not be tolerated 5. Our group charges, I realize this is not the tradition of the game, but it is the modernization. Again, if this bothers you, then maybe this group is not for you. No comments on being required to pay. Game fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. Please only sign up if you’re confident you can attend. a. The fees help cover the wear and tear of the supplies, mat, tile or rack replacement, card purchases and prizes. 6. Cards: There are now many Mahjong Card options, including the National Mahjong League. We will use the Mahjong Press Card, The NMJL card, The American Mahjong Society and The Big Card in our play.
